Community Health Requires A Community to Fund It

Patient care for less than $20 a visit

West Alabama Women's Center (dba WAWC Healthcare) is a non-profit free and sliding scale clinic for uninsured, under-insured and Medicaid patients in Alabama seeking patient-centered, evidence-based and culturally responsive health services. We turn away no patient due to income, insurance status, race, gender, sexual orientation, ability or documentation status. We do all of this - prenatal care, birth support, contraception, STI testing, treatment and prevention, gender affirming healthcare, community mental health, miscarriage management, annual exams and more - because we believe healthcare is a human right that belongs to everyone, and that all people benefit from a healthy society.

Once the largest abortion clinic in the state of Alabama, WAWC remained open after the Dobbs decision to continue supporting a community that found all aspects of reproductive healthcare just as difficult to access as abortion was. We will provide every service legally allowed in the state of Alabama - and additional resources to access those services a patient may need to leave the state to obtain. But because of our commitment to under-served communities, we now provide more than $2 million per year in uncompensated medical care.

We can't do this without you. Will you help us ensure no patient is left without a doctor for care?
